The 1st Transnational Project Meeting was held between 7-8 December 2016 in Magenta, Italy. The kick-off meeting was hosted by Comune di Magenta (Municipality of Magenta).

The representatives from Tuzla Halk Egitimi Merkezi (Turkey), T.C. Tuzla Kaymakamlığı (Turkey), Comune di Magenta (Italy), Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (Greece), Integration För Alla (Sweden), Terra Vera Association for Sustainable Development (Slovenia), Stowarzyszenie Klub Sportowy ACTIVITA (Poland) gathered to start the project; “Land of Hope” funded by European Commission under the framework of Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnerships for adult education project (Development of Innovation).

The press conference was held during the partner meeting by the hosting organisation, Comune di Magenta in order to promote and disseminate the project in local and international level. The Mayor of Magenta, Mr. Marco Invernizzi made a welcome speech stating that he is very pleased to host the representatives in Magenta and he said that this project is the only good example in our region. Therefore it is very important for all of us.

The district governor of Tuzla from Istanbul – Turkey, Mr. Ali Rıza Çalışır holded the floor and stated that Turkey currently hosting more than 3 million refugees has a historically experience on this humanitarian problem as well. He added that this project will be a good impact on social and cultural integration of the refugees, migrants and asluym seekers in our countries.

The representatives of the project meeting visited the “Reception Centre” for the asylum seekers in Magenta and the “Integration Centre” for the asylum seekers in Milano in order to get the information about the reception and adaptation procedures of asylum seekers expecially coming from African countries.

The representatives of the partners discussed about the partner agreement, identified the basic principles, tasks, methods and strategies for developing the action plan in order to address the intellectual outputs, activities and the events in the following months.

The partner agreements were signed by the headmaster of Tuzla Halk Egitimi Merkezi (Public Education Centre), Mr. Metin Çangır during the project meeting in Magenta.

The next project meeting will be held by the project partner, Terra Vera Association for Sustainable Development in Slovenia on February 2017.

The project meeting in Magenta ended with the common hope of a good cooperation among the partners and a good impact on the target groups of the project.
